does anyone know how to use a big muff pi live or what gear goes good with one?

Run it into a tube-amp (preferably a Brittish-voiced one.. Marshall, Vox, Laney etc), slightly breaking up, with plenty of mids dailed in to cut through the mix live.

yeah that sounds good what about a Krank or bassman i would like to get those amps,do you have any experience with laney?What marshall would you use and guitars too?

I'd use a JTM45 with any groovy guitar.. Like a Strat or a Gibson Firebird (mini humbuckers for that extra bite)

I use a '74 with a Strat and a Deluxe Reverb. It works great.
