I've heard that the Way Huge Swollen Pickle Jumbo Fuzz is actually a modified Big Muff Pi. Does anyone know the differences and if there is anyone out there performing a mod? The Way Huge pedal sounds great, but the prices are totally out of hand. I need the tone, not the price-tag or hype.

You might try emailing David at D*A*M. He does custom, one-off stuff. Super nice guy to deal w/ too. I've got a couple of boxes on the way from him, one of them being a Big Muff variant.

Indeed the Swollen Pickle is a Big Muff variant...however, it was made using a special chip instead of discreet transistors.

That said, a lot of the sound comes from the Swollen Pickle's tone stack, which can easily be replicated in a "regular" Big Muff circuit.
