What is the best type of paint for hand painting artwork on a pedal? The artwork would be done with a brush. I would also be spraying a clear coat over top. All suggestions/recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

I sprayed on a real cool Texas flag on my prototype ZZ808 and when I put the clear coat on it gave it kind of a cracked finish, so be careful the clearcoat is the same kind of paint you are using on the artwork.
