I've got a Daphon super overdrive pedal (its based on a SD-1 and has the same signal bleed problem when disengaged) and i think the clean signal is bleeding through when the pedal is engaged so you getting a wett dry mix rather than completly wett sound.
just wondering if anyone knew how to mod a pedal like this to take out the clean sound when engaged
