If it all gets to be too much trouble, try to find a Chandler Digital Echo. It is INCREDIBLY close to the tape sound.
I have had 3 Echoplexes, and this Chandler is what got me to stop wasting time with tapes/maintainance, etc.
It is one rack space, and also does straight delay, and chorusing efx.
