I have a custom strat with EMG-SA singles. when i roll the volume off, it also rolls the treble off. I just need to add the capacitor to the volume pot to let the treble bleed through, right?? Also, anyone have any suggestion on what value cap to use?

F1sh, this is what I use, and I believe DonneR does the same:

capacitor - .001uf, across high end of volume pot & wiper

resistor - 150 k fixed resistor, in parallel with capacitor.

I've been very happy with these values, and haven't tried anything else, as they really retain highs as you roll off volume. Some feel that the .001 has too much sizzle, and there are other values you could try, such as .05; .022; .047... Also, some claim to have better luck with the cap & resistor in series... I use traditional low output strat singles, and the EMG's might like other values better, dunno...

For additional info/confusion(!), do a search here, type in "volume pots" and there should be a bunch of stuff... Check out the threads "The best volume pot mod I have ever tried!", "Onboard caps, resistors for retaining highs", and Cybercat's posts about the "London Mod".

Check out the link > electronic parts > other stuff and volumn kit...they recommend using what Fender uses...in fact they buy their parts from Fender...a 220K resistor wired in parallel with a 680pf cap. across the input and output lugs of the volumn pot...I did both of my teles with this kit and the volumn pot is now usable...

If I'm not wrong I believe those EMG's are active.I'm not sure if the cap and resistor will work right on those P/U's.
