Why do you want to wire your speakers out of phase?

well mainly the idea comes from my teacher (the first marshall ever made was a copy of a 59 bassman, and I believe he accidently wired the speakers out of phase, but well im experimental, and i want to see the effect it has on the sound because i dont like what its putting out now.

Yeah, I read in one of Gerald Weber's books that the first Marshall amps were exact Bassman copies. The differences were basically two things.
First, 6L6 tubes weren't readily available in England. So he used EL34s, as they had a similar power output.
Second, the speakers were wired reverse phase from how Fender had done it. When the speakers should be getting pushed out, they were being pulled in. When they were supposed to be pulled in, they were pushing out.
I don't think it's the same as out of phase. Maybe you just reverse the wiring on the speaker jack? I don't know.
Rob, call me next week, the night before your lesson. I will bring my book for you to read. Then you can post your findings for everyone. As you know MUCH more than I about electronics, etc.
