I love my Emerald Green Distortion Machine. It's vital to my sound, but I only use it with the drive (DIST) at 8 o'clock - barely up. It's the perfect second channel to my AC15TBRX. Problem is it's really a higher gain box than I need for my indie rock thang. I don't tweak at all during a performance, so I tend to use combinations for variety. If I want big distortion, which I rarely do, then I send the EGDM through a PPF. HUGE! Bottom line though, I'd like to get my low-gain EGDM sound without the knob set so precariously in that almost-off-but-not-quite-so-don't-accidently-kick-it spot. Also, at this setting, there's more hiss than might be there if the gain structure was set more to my needs. Maybe not though. Any advice? Hopefully BJF is reading.
