Hum aside do the kinmans sound as good as fralins /vz's etc..... ive heard the most magical things about them but are they really the best single coils for the tone.

I never used Fralins and the only other noiseless Strat pups I used were the ones that came with my Strat Powerhouse. Those were ok and really noiseless.

I now have Kinmans - Warm Set - in my Strat and I love them. They are dead quiet and the string definition is excellent, good quack in positions 2 and 4, fat and round on position 5 and bright but not harsh on position 1. Very, very sweet strat tones, but...

They are not true SCs and, if you are a die-hard purist you may have some qualms about them. I am not a die-hard purist so I love them.

Alternatively, you could look into some Fralins with John Suhr´s noiseless system, I forget what is called now but look it up.
