I just bought this pedal used, it works fine for me until I turn the gain to its maximum. At this point there something strange: the sound is like i heard a radio in the wrong frequency... not really useful!
As it's a used pedal, perhaps it has been modified but i don't think so. My question: Is it normal and if not does it mean my effect gonna break soon ? sorry for the crapy english from france |

hey your english is not as bad as my french! I have one of those pedals and several others from RMayer.... if you are hearing strange radio signals it is because your effects chain and cables connecting it are acting as a radio antenna, this is an old but familiar problem with analog type pedals and non-shielded cables. try using a higher quality cable(s) that are shielded and the noise should go away or go down at least. sometimes if you are near a radio broadcasting station this can a real bad problem, but usually it is the cable(s) and the analog pedals combined ... i fought this prob myself and the new cables usually take care of it... I don't think there is anything wrong with the Voodoo vibe, it's just that when you run the gain at 10 you are going to pick up more signal noise than usual... try using just that pedal only and some different/newer cables and see what happens...... cheers
