I'm going to buy a no-load pot for my MIM Tele. The pots are available in split or solid shaft. My Tele has a solid shaft.
1) What's the difference?
2) Should I go with what my stock parts are,
which is, solid type?

Thanks for any advice.

I think your choice should be dictated by what kind of control knobs you are using. If you use the stock Tele-style chrome knobs, you need to stick with the solid shaft. If you go to plastic, Strat-style knobs, you will need the split-shaft pots.
