In San Diego Fred at the Repair Zone is good for normal bread and butter stuff. Easy to deal with and fairly quick.

In San Diego for restoration, Yuris at the Blue Guitar. The old sage of San Diego, somewhat eccentric. Ok very eccentric! Not sure about the other techs there now.

John Carruthers up in Santa Monica? Just make sure John works on your guitar - although this is probably not going to happen. I had some bad fret work/set up by one of his apprenticies.

Wow- GuitArtMan, I couldnn't ask fo much more than that. I ended up taking my Strat to a shop in Laguna Beach as they seem to have some solid guitar guys there though.

Stoked on the amp information as that is really what I am after some help.
