My Boss DM-2 has a problem. It starts to "runaway" and regenerates noise until it takes off into white noise.

I think the problem is that the pots inside need to be tweaked.

There are 3 adjustable pots. Anyone konw what they do and which one I should futz with?

I don't read schematics so pointing me to one won't help.

Thanks

Runaway echoes actually are a very desired feature of analog delays like the DM-2. Big Grin

The DM-2 under normal conditions will runaway if you max the regeneration (repeat) control, particularly if the delay time is set to very short. Tweaking the internal pots can remove the runaway, but you shouldn't turn the pots unless the pedal is hooked up to a scope. Adjusting the trimmers blindly could really mess things up. Thus, I'd advise taking it to a tech.
