i just picked up a ross phase distortion (r70)

first off, the pots have a good amount of crackle when you turn them, i tried cleaning them as much as possible. theyre solder directly to the board, so i cant open em up to clean them unless i desolder them... anything i can do?

also, there's a lot of hum when i click on the distortion.

any ideas?

well, make sure it isnt a cord,or amp ect ect. whatever yeah, did you get it used? if you bought it new id say take it back lol, if you got it off ebay or something id complain about the guys auction to ebays staff and tell them it wasnt as described, or if you just got it used, i wouldnt know what the problem is unless its one of the obvious ones.
