My Vox AC50CP2 combo (EL34 tubes in the power section) has been sounding VERY compressed lately -- particularly the "clean" channel. When I play, it almost sounds like the signal is being prevented from getting through the circuitry (very choked off). There is very little sustain or clarity. Could this be a problem with preamp tube V1 or the phase inverter tube?

yo, from one Vox guy to another...take your question over to this board....lot more folks there to help u out with Vox stuff. Nothing against this board, but this is a more Vox specialized board..AC50, Grog, and Lyle are all quite knowledgeable about tech repair stuff
