Wondering if I'm the only one who thinks that The Police were a great band?

I never seem to get tired of these songs.

One of the best. I just had to learn "Invisible Sun" for a gig. Easy tune, bitchin' vibe. All I have to decide now is whether I use my Fulltone C/F or the Analog Man clone,clone.

Almost 20 years later and I'm still pissed that Sting left that band. I just haven't really cared for anything he's done since.
The Police seem to be one of those bands that I forget about for a while, and then I'll hear them somewhere and I'll be reminded. It just happened yesterday when a local radio station played "Message in a Bottle".
It seems there was a lot of Reggae influence in those songs.

I always liked them, but I really liked them when I got into studying Andy's playing, not stealing note for note but getting into his ways of playing and approaching rhythm work.

Andy put the fun back in the rhythm for me, so much that I now have to work on my solos... wich used to be my strong point.

I love the early stuff that really rocks, like "So Lonely". Later stuff like "Murder By Numbers" is cool too, sort of a punk lounge vibe.

I'm anticipating what's going to happen next year at the awards.

Will they play, or not?

Sting always says he's not into nostalgia yet, he plays Message in a Bottle, Every Breath...,Roxanne, Every Little Thing... every time he does a show and they go nuts.

Andy Summers will be 60 years old on Dec. 31st 2002.

I'd like to see them play before he gets too old.

You are one of those people who criticize everyone simply because you are upset with your own failures. I have noticed that attacking others and just being an asshole to other posters consumes your entire pathetic excuse for a life. I saw this interview with Sting and he was talking about when all three of them got up and played at his wedding and he could feel the tension within the first few minutes. LOL!
The Police were a great band. They were one of those bands that wrote great songs AND everyone in the band was a great musician.
