If I had to pick one I'd go with Blow by Blow. Produced by George Martin and it has what many consider (including myself) one of the best Guitar solos EVER recorded. I am (of course) talking about "Cause We've Ended as Lovers) A tune dedicated to Roy Buchanan, another great guitar player that no one has heard of. You MUST own Blow By Blow.

Thats a great song. I remember that it was written by Stevie Wonder, but I did not know it was dedicated to Roy Buchanan. BTW, I am familiar with Mr. Buchanans music. Too bad that the worlds best unknown guitarist life ended that way.

I would have to agree that " Blow by Blow " is probably his best . On " Wired " though , you've got that great version of 'Goodbye Pork Pie Hat' that has probably every possible type of electric guitar tone known to man . There's some pretty rockin' stuff on " There and Back " as well .

Right On! Hey I never knew that Stevie Wonder wrote that tune, but he does thank Stevie on the albumn, I guess that explains it. And GOD YES Goodbye Pork Pie hat is F_ck*ng incredable. My favorite tune on that album. This is actually a Charle Mingus tune. Beck is a big Jazz fan, tunes like this and Thelonius seem to prove that.
Sorry MCV, now you've got to buy all of the above mentioned albums, it's well worth it though.

The Beckology box-set is also an awesome collection that every Jeff Beck fan must have and also a great introduction to Jeff Beck! and of coarse, Truth and Beck-Ola with Rod Stewart and Rod Wood. I think that the last great album that he did was Guitar Shop. But I really would recommend to start with the "Beckology" box-set!
