Frank Marino
Joe Pass
Radiohead
Roy Nichols
Sonny Landreth
Pat Metheny
Mike Bloomfield
Clarence White
Jim Hall
Don Rich

That should do it for now.

1. Pete Townshend. I don't play anything like him, but I HAVE to pick up a guitar when I listen - especially an air guitar! Can't afford to obliterate my real one!
2. Paul Simon - again, I don't play like him but he was a huge influence on my concepts of guitarists before I even started playing.
3. A bunch of acid rock improvising guys I heard growing up (just 3 or 4 years old or so) on AM radio. Nothing specific, just a general impression. Everthing else back then too.
4. A series of guys during my youth who would play at cookouts, on porches, camping, gatherings etc. on acoustic. I KNEW I wanted to play guitar.
5. Clapton
6. Neil Young
7. The Edge (his atmospheric stuff, circa October)
8. Carlos Santana
9. Jerry Garcia
10. Duane and Dickey. I had a whole phase here!

Chuck Berry, Hendrix, Lightning Hopkins, Steven Stills, Richard Thompson, Dave Alvin, George Thoroughgood(sp?!), the Eagles guys, the Stones guys, hell - the Beatles. Buddy Guy.

Lots of non-guitar jazz. I never liked jazz guitar though. Classical as sort of general impression.

A bunch of unknowns in bar bands - I get totally psyched sometimes.

All the guys I've jammed with.

5)Doyle Bramhall II
6)Jimi Hendrix
7)Albert King(where would Stevie have been without this man)
8)Robin Trower
9)Lightnin Hopkins
10)Me. I don't say it to be arrogant, I just like what I play. I think every guitar player should learn to appreciate themselves. I'm not on par with the rest of the guys on my list, but after 17 years of playing I've mixed my favorite parts of each of them into something that I enjoy playing as well as listening to.
