Actually you must get the senior citizen version. I can't remember a band i've seen in the last 3 years that isn't 10 times better.
I really enjoyed that performance they put on at the super bowl, playing a medley w/ N' Sync and Britney Spears, true rock and roll!!!! I'm sure a lot of people were standing and it was very moving it moved me to change the channel.
Can I say this loud and clear, there's never been one good band EVER to do a medley, medleys are the saddest compromise ever and if the songs can be that short then why aren't they to start. Anyone that does a medley of their own stuff should be killed on the spot or sell Doritos for a living(ala Aerosmith).
You see this happen to a lot of older bands who want to stay in the spotlight, who want to keep their careers going, and who wouldn't? They aren't doing it for the rock anymore, it's just a business decision. Like Kiss, Bon Jovi, Rolling Stones, Def Leppard. You get Diane Warren to write you some power ballads and away you go. You over produce your records. The more I think about their 80's "comeback" music, the more I hate it. Overproduced fluff.

I could never figure out how Joe Perry could play so wickedly on Train Kept A Rollin', and then never come close to that high point again. Then I read an article in Guitar about how Joe was "ill" (dope sick?) when it was time to track that song, so the band recruited Steve Hunter to cut the guitar tracks. Well, that explained that. He was never acknowledged on the album notes, which is also very weak.
"Young men make war, and the virtues of war are the virtues of young men--courage, and hope for the future. Then old men make the peace. And the vices of peace are the vices of old men--mistrust and caution. It must be so." Prince Faisal in Lawrence of Arabia

It all comes down to this. If u are passionate about what u write, play it with confidence, and gets u off, THAT"S ALL THAT MATTERS and u can see that with aerosmith. And another thing is most bands sound better on their record then live. It’s the opposite with aerosmith. We should be happy for them! They have made a great career for them selves that's had do to. And for those people who have low self of steam and think that they are better then most players out there who say "JOE PERRY IS NOT THAT GOOD!". Who are u to say what's good or not. Great so u can play all their songs and solo's, that's good for u! I didn't know that playing the guitar was a competition and u had to play at a set level in order to be called a good player. Who cares if ur good! If u like ur music that's all that matters!
