I've been a fan of the other two King's(Albert, and B.B.) for some time.
I've heard of, but just discovered Freddie King! This IS the guy! While B.B. and Albert, and the others are great, Freddie's style was so aggressive compared to his contemporaries. I've definately found a new favorite.
It's a shame that he died so early.
It seems to always happen to the best!

I could not agree more, Freddie is THE SHIT!!.
I do not understand why he never received more of the limelight. Freddie had it ALL, great vocals, great player, great tone, great songwriter, he was the complete blues package.

do yourself a favor if you are remotely into the blues. His band on that show is incredible.

It almost pisses me off that while everyone is busy drooling over guys like B.B. King, and Buddy Guy, Freddie takes the back seat.

I agree...FREDDIE IS THE SHIT!!!! And if he were alive today, he probably would not be doing Burger King commercials!!!
Since he died relatively young, I'm surprised that didn't bolster his popularity. If a jerk off like Cobain can acheive an almost legendary status by dying, then Freddie deserves a damn bronze statue in downtown Chicago. The inscription would say "I'm going back to Dallas"
