It's a shame that he's dead,but I still say HE SUCKED MY HAIRY BEAN BAG!!!!!! Revolution my ass!!!!! All he did was help people with no talent to think they could play, and the garbage has spread from there!GAAAARBAGE!!!!!

What makes you think you need talent to be in a Rock N Roll Band??

Maybe a musician but not a RnR band. Rock N Roll Bands where made to be young, powerful and full of energy. You think Louie Louie is hard to play ? But it still rocks 40 yrs later.......

You want to be in Rush or a Fusion Band yes you need talent but then again those are bands with musicians not Rock N Rollers.....

Well, we lost another one. Mr. George Harrison will be sorely missed. His contributions as a musician, in general, have been obvious to most. It is as a guitar player that George is often overlooked. For one thing, I've never heard anyone else sound quite like George on slide.

I guess we're down to the Fab Two now. Hope you're diggin' the Next World, George. Say hello to John for us.

The Rock era is definately over. But yet continues on somehow. I am 43 years old and I remember when Rock dominated the airwaves as well as peoples lives. It was a way of life for us. When the disco era came things began to change and slowly more artificial sounds became dominant, even in Rock music!!! I remember when I couldn't stand the Cars and that stupid "Just What I Needed" song they played every 5 minutes on the radio. Slowly but surely I began to accept the Cars as legitimate Rock and Rollers and rightly so. Today the DJ is in the band, in those days the DJ played the songs that the musician's wrote and recorded. Today a lot of people think the DJ is soley responsible for the music and would rather hear a DJ than a band. I hear this all the time. "Alternative" rock is in. I guess this means rock without blues roots. Mainly what I hear is music without any American roots whatsoever this makes it "Alternative". Good or bad? I don't know there are some songs I like but I don't collect to many new groups CD's. There really isn't much musicianship to speak of. The only good thing I see is that black and white music is beginning to meld which I think is overdue and good for the world. Blues has began to encompass Soul,Funk, R&B, Rockabilly, Swing, Hard Rock and eventually probably some metal when the world is ready for it.It seems that one day anything that can't be classified as Alternative will be called blues. Sheryl Crow/ Blues artist.There is good and bad about today's music but the Rock Radio era is definately over for now.Still classic rock bands are in demand at clubs. In my area anyway.The music and musicianship will have to improve in order to keep people's interest. Some folks just want to see music and some would like to hear it, and some both. The state of music is really boring right now for a Rock fan. Unless he's into evil and the dark side just isn't my thing.
