Man, to say Petrucci sucks at prog??? Try saying that to the mirror because he's the only one who might believe it...
The only reason most people even know what progrock is is dew to DREAM THEATER.
And in my opinion they have not only the best guitarrist but also the best drummer in the world (Mike Portnoy).
So sleep over it and pray to wake up some day with Petrucci's talent.

I think its because I don't like the way prog vocals sing.

Just so theres no bashing, in music it all boils down to beauty lies in the ear of the beholder just like physical beauty...i.e. corgan is a great songwriter and music activist but certainly not in the same "class" p.s who loves malmsteen??

I think he's an incredible guitar player, only judging from his instructional video. I have "Awake", but I don't get into that kind of music. I read some of his lyrics on one song, just terrible! Just play, John, just play.
