i recently saw a biography on him on the ovation
cable network.i really dug what i heard,& what i have read about him.does anyone know of a good
comprehensive career overview on c.d. ?i know he
released alot in his short life,& the later material was a little overproduced,but i would dig any suggestions.and, did he record any of my
new favorite non-guitar styles of music: bluenote
hammond b-3 organ combos?thanks for any help!

You're right, there's a ton of material out there for Wes. Even the later "commercial" stuff - over produced as it may be - is stellar. Especially the solos because he had to keep them relatively short and concise. You can't go wrong with anything pre '60. There are a lot of anthologies on the Verve and Riverside labels (I don't know who owns those now but I have seen them available). "Smokin' at the Half Note", which is actually a Wynton Kelly record, is arguably some of Wes' finest playing. You can find this at any "better" record shop. As for the pop stuff "Teguila" is a great album. I think the first of the more commercial stuff. Enjoy.

remember the labels names.i think they are both
releasing discs.the hunt continues...anybody else?
