I was still in H.S. when this came out -'85 I believe. Changed my thinking about music entirely. They were really an 80's version of the Stones, especially this album. It's the marker in my life when I "stopped listening to crap that they force feed you on FM radio".

Those guys are a trip. They seemed to be either absolutely brilliant or absolutely awful, not a lot of middle ground. I have an anthology called "All For Nothing / Nothing For All". "Like A Rolling Pin" just cracks me up... probably the best / worst drunken recording session I've ever heard. I can just about smell Budweiser and Jack Daniels through the speakers when I listen to it. For the record, I'm a Replacements fan.

Ever since Tim, I have collected everything these guys have put out - crap or otherwise. HAve you ever liked a band so much that you even like the crap?!

I was at a Mats show in Athens, GA during their final tour. First song was "I Will Dare". Well, the crowd was sloshing beer all over the stage already, you could tell Paul W. was getting pissed off the bat. Some idiot chucks his plastic cup filled with beer and nails Paul about guitar-high. Paul throws his guitar down (I think it was a LP Junior -TV YEllow) and jumps out into the crowd to kick some Georgia ass while the band played on. Incredible.

Glad to see another Mats fan on the forum. I could share some stories from other shows, another time...

And then there was the time in '86 that the Replacements did Saturday Night Live and Bob Stinson came out wearing a sun dress... They did "Kiss Me On The Bus".

"Tim" would be in my list of favorite albums for sure.. Not most influential for me but favorite list most definitely.. I was lucky enough to see them in concert during that tour twice.. once in Burlington, VT and once in Albany, NY... One of my favorite bands and when I first heard Johnny Reznik's tunes in the Goo GOo Dolls I couldn't believe how much influence he got from Paul Westerberg....

Another time I saw them Chris Mars was wearing Peter Chriss makeup ala KISS. Hilarious. They almost didn't finish the show that night because they were so drunk.

Yes and it marks the first time on NBC history the word "MotherFUCKER" aired. I laughed so damn hard!
