The songs now may be more lame and John Frusciante is certainly burnt to a crisp. However, even if you don't care for the new material, if you think that the rhythm section of Chad Smith and Flea is not one of the best in rock, you should have a doctor check your pulse!

Time to sell records! It's not a Chili Peppers album but if you think it's crap then you need to check your ears. It pails in comparison to most of the noise that is being produced today.
