...and was on the front row. It's been 15 years since I was up against the stage at a concert, and I forgot how much better the stage mix is from the house mix.
Warren was incredible, played a Firebird for half the night, then a LP for the rest. By the way the LP was a flamed top, but it had a flat top.Hmm.
Played thru two half stacks, one Soldano, one Diaz, both thru ENGL cabs. Great tone. Used his auto-wah a bit much for me. His leslie sounded incredible; made me realize no matter how many leslie-like pedals I get, they'll never sound like that.
Highlight of the night for me was probably a cover of Robert Johnson's 'If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day', freakin' amazin. [Cool]

I saw Warren with the Allmans a few weeks ago and Gov't Mule about 4 years ago. He is not only a great guitar player but a damn good singer as well. He was playing what looked like a red 335 most of the time, with the Allmans, and just getting this great tone.

Mule played a show in Ann Arbor MI with Jason Newstead playing bass for half of the show. I don't think they've settled on a permanent replacement though. I've heard they also played some dates with Larry Graham.

The bass player for Widespread Panic is playing with them. Don't remember his name, but I went to their website www.mule.net and he was listed there. Big, big boy!

Hey Bigolcasino!
That bass player is awesome. I believe his name is O'Tell (spelling optional).
I used to hang around with Warren Haynes, Widespread Panic, Blues Traveler..etc. My bands manager was the roomate of Chan from Traveler and all those bands were tight with eachother.

Not only is Warren Haynes incredible to watch, but he's a gentlemen to rap and drink with.
I saw him play with both the Allman Bros (at the time) and Govt Mule and it was always amazing to sit back in awe.

I've also seen Widespread Panic (at the Wetlands in nyc) and they were also tremendous to watch.
