My all time favorite bassist is joseph patrick moore. I recently bought his solo bass cd and it's unbelievable!!!! As good or better than anything in bass history. For those fans of bass who don't know who jpm is,you need to find out.

I'm gonna have to throw Bryan Beller in the mix here. He's played with Dweezil Zappa, Steve Vai, and is Mike Keneally's resident bassist.
He put out a stunning solo CD last year entitled View. Not your typical 'solo bass' CD, but full of interesting song structures and amazing playing from everyone involved.
