On January 13th muchmusic usa is launching a new television program called Interactive Music Xchange (IMX for short) that features a tied-in online game. Similar in concept to the long running web based game, Hollywood Stock Exchange. IMX integrates a web game with a daily hour long TV show on MuchMusic USA.

The general concept is you buy and sell shares in artists and their releases (think of it as finance and A&R running headlong into each other). The TV component will feature 3 hosts and various guest stars discussing new artists, breaking music news, and the like in a CNBC-style set-up [but much less lame]. As your portfolio grows you can trade in your virtual IMX money for prizes.
