TAB out your favorite lick or phrase, by one of your all-time favorite musicians. And share it here. Maybe tell why it's a favorite lick, and where it can be found in a song.

I'd be hard pressed to name a favorite lick... if the question were "what's your fave most bizarre lick?", it'd be much easier (except for tabbing it out!):

Jeff Beck; "Blast From The East" off Who Else!. The whammy bar manipulations @ 2:31 are beyond insane. Sounds like Satan playing with rubber bands. Whatever would possess someone to play something like that is beyond me. I love it.

Yeah, I just listened to the track you mentioned. You're right, he's a MONSTER with the bar. I really love the textures he manages to conjure.

It is hard to pick a favorite. Maybe I should have said, "One of your favorites, that truly shows the characteristics you most love about a player".

That part of Blast is pretty representative of his latest whammy bar stylings.

I don't know about a lick per se but the main melody phrase from "Jessica" by the Allman brothers gets me every time....there's no words but it says so much......don't even ask for the tab.

Yeah, Jessica IS a great melody! I use it all the time, to teach harmonized parts. Even the young kids really connect with it. I'll try to post the melody line for you, in the next couple of days.
