just do a lot of second penatonic position (a for example)whole bends on the g string up (7th fret) a whole step into the last strings on an A barre chord (5th fret b string, 5th fret high e). do a lot of that with some blues noodling, and you should have it.

You might try some slapback echo (one repeat just after the original note, equal volume) to help get the sound. Digital Delay isn't perfect for this - it sounds too clean (but try it if that's all you got). To be more authentic use an analog delay (or a model of one) or, if one's available, a tape delay would be perfect. Play it pretty clean (no distortion, or just a hint of breakup if you think that sounds better). If possible, play it on a hollow or semi-hollow body. If you don't have one, don't sweat it, but a shred type guitar won't get you an authentic tone. I don't know if that's super important to you, however. Your playing technique should pretty much have everyone understand it's a 50's solo.

Concentrate on an exciting start (try sliding into it), use some double stops (3rds and 4ths) outline the chord changes, if you go to a scale play pentatonic major and spice it up with a touch of pentatonic minor, and finally have a satisfying conclusion.

Listen to some 50's Rock n' Roll (buy a sampler?) to help get the feel and cop a few licks.
