The Beatles started a lot of tunes with a chorus ; She Loves You , Help , Lovely Rita (after the intro)Sly Stone ; Dance to the Music ,(chorus after inro as well). It's your song , write it the way you want to.

I totally agree with klasaine, it's your song do whatever you feel is right. A trick to figure that out is playing with editing. This was done originally with tape and blades, but now anyone can record a stereo mix into a PC and edit it around and do some "cut n paste" to get an idea for arrangment. Just a boombox recording of a jam can be worked on for arrangment in that manner and it saves time as opposed to figuring it out on paper with section names, playing each version etc etc... This is just a trick not a fix up for recordings(tho some do just that, but that's another subject!)
