This is where I'm going to leave a review for my new Legacy as soon as I've had some time to get to know it! [Big Grin]

I've had a '91 sparkle gold ASAT for about a year now . Super well made . Stays in tune . Always will cut through the mix , not because it's super bright , just articulate and even . The neck ( maple board ), is a little small for my personal taste ( I like baseball bats ) , but this is one of the best axes I've ever owned . Almost everyone I know that has a G&L says the same thing . The only complaint I have is the input jack - it's a panel jack , which when it starts to get loose inside it's impossible to tighten . I did replace the pups with Rio Grandes' . Not because I didn't like the originals - just as an experiment . The originals may go back . Actually , I'm looking for a rosewood board ASAT . Anybody ?

Okay, I think I'm ready.
For the last 4 days I've been playing about 6 hours a day and it's all been on the Le***.
I bought it used so I'm not sure what year it is. I'm told by a friend of the former owner that it is one of the first years of production. The store I purchaced it from had 4 brand new Legacy's, but this one smoked 'em all!

This is your basic Strat set up, Black w/white pick guard, Rosewood neck. The difference that I was unaware of was in the knobs. It has 1 volume, one tone, and the last knob is a passive mid boost. It's just about 5db's but it is a nice feature. This guitar plays beautiful, and has become my fast favorite. The only drawback is the pickups. When the boost knob is rolled to 1(which I assume is normal output) it sounds really thin. When I turn the boost knob all the way up then it has a nice fat sound, much like the Rio Grandes in my other Strat.
When I bought this guitar it was a little dusty, but it still has plastic under the screws on the pickguard, it's former owner is a harmonica player. I gave it the once over and now it looks like brand new. For $600 I don't think I could beat the deal.

A lot of "passive" mid-boost circuitry actually will cut mids between 1 and 5 ( 5 being "normal" ) 6 through 10 being the boost .

I was wondering about that. So that would mean that the middle, around 5 is actually normal output. That makes sense.

Well it's been two years almost to the day since I posted last in this thread. The 'Rio's are gone and the original G&L pups are back in - Leo knew exactly what he was doing. My ASAT is still one my main "workers" and possibly all time favorite axe. I could not live w/o it.
